Aim and Scope

Aim

The Journal of Decision Support Systems and Multi-Criteria Decision Making aims to provide a scholarly forum for the development, evaluation, and application of decision support systems and multi-criteria decision-making approaches.

The journal seeks to advance research in Decision Support Systems (DSS), Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM), decision analysis, computational decision methods, and related fields by publishing rigorous theoretical, methodological, computational, and applied research.

The journal particularly encourages research that develops new decision models, improves existing methods, integrates complementary approaches, evaluates methodological performance, and addresses complex real-world decision problems.

Scope

The Journal of Decision Support Systems and Multi-Criteria Decision Making welcomes original research addressing the design, development, evaluation, and application of decision-support and multi-criteria decision-making methods.

Decision Support Systems

Design and development of DSS, intelligent DSS, web-based and computer-based systems, data-driven decision support, DSS architectures and frameworks, decision analytics, and computational support for decision making.

Multi-Criteria Decision Making

MCDM, MADM, MODM, preference modeling, ranking, selection, prioritization, group decision making, and hybrid or integrated MCDM approaches.

Criteria Weighting and Preference Methods

Objective, subjective, and hybrid weighting methods, preference elicitation, criteria importance assessment, weight sensitivity, and stability analysis.

Decision-Making Methods and Models

Development of new methods, modifications and extensions of existing methods, comparative evaluation, mathematical and computational models, uncertainty, fuzzy, grey, probabilistic, and stochastic approaches.

Computational and Analytical Methods

Optimization, mathematical modeling, computational intelligence, data analytics, machine-learning-assisted decision support, algorithms, sensitivity analysis, robustness, and ranking stability.

Decision Support Applications

Business and management, finance and investment, supply chain and logistics, healthcare, education, engineering, information technology, environmental and sustainability problems, human resources, energy, infrastructure, public services, and other real-world decision problems.

Methodological Contribution

The journal welcomes studies that introduce, modify, integrate, validate, or systematically evaluate decision-making approaches.

Applications of established methods should provide meaningful scientific contribution through methodological development, analytical insight, empirical evidence, comparative evaluation, or practical decision-support implications.

New or modified methods should clearly explain their rationale, relationship to existing approaches, computational procedures, and evidence supporting their validity and usefulness.

Interdisciplinary Research

The journal welcomes interdisciplinary research connecting decision support and multi-criteria decision making with computer science, informatics, artificial intelligence, data science, mathematics, statistics, operations research, optimization, management, economics, engineering, healthcare, education, logistics, sustainability, and related disciplines. The relationship between the research and decision support, decision analysis, MCDM, or related computational decision research should be clearly established.
