Article Processing Charge (APC)

The Journal of Decision Support Systems and Multi-Criteria Decision Making (JODESMA) applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support the operational costs associated with manuscript processing, peer review administration, editing, publication, digital hosting, and long-term maintenance of the journal.

When the APC Is Charged

The APC is charged only after a manuscript has successfully completed the peer-review and editorial decision process and has been accepted for publication.

Payment of the APC does not guarantee acceptance and does not influence the editorial decision or peer-review outcome.

Activities Supported by the APC

The APC supports journal-related publishing activities, including:

  • Editorial and manuscript processing.
  • Peer-review administration.
  • Copyediting and publication preparation.
  • Online publication and article hosting.
  • Maintenance of the journal's electronic publishing platform.
  • DOI and publication metadata management where applicable.
  • Preservation and continued accessibility of published articles.
No Submission Fee

JODESMA does not charge authors a submission fee. Authors are not required to make any payment when submitting a manuscript for editorial consideration.

Payment After Acceptance

Authors will receive information regarding APC payment after the manuscript has received a final acceptance decision.

Authors should not make any APC payment before receiving official payment instructions from the journal.

The APC is independent of the editorial decision-making process. Editors and reviewers do not make decisions based on an author's ability or willingness to pay the APC.

Waiver and Financial Considerations

Authors who experience genuine financial difficulties may contact the Editorial Office to request consideration for an APC waiver or reduction, where applicable.

Requests for financial consideration will be handled separately from the editorial and peer-review process. An author's request for a waiver or reduction will not affect the evaluation of the manuscript.

Transparency of Charges

The APC stated on this page is the applicable publication charge for JODESMA unless otherwise explicitly stated for a particular article type or publication arrangement.

Authors will be informed of any applicable charges before publication. No undisclosed publication fees will be imposed on authors.

Refunds

If an APC has been paid and the article cannot subsequently be published due to an error or decision attributable to the journal, the Editorial Office will review the circumstances and determine whether a refund is appropriate.

APC payments do not constitute payment for acceptance, favorable peer review, or guaranteed publication.

Editorial Independence

The financial relationship between JODESMA and its authors does not affect editorial independence. Manuscripts are evaluated according to the journal's scope, editorial standards, peer-review procedures, research integrity requirements, and publication ethics policies.

The APC is an administrative publication charge and is not a fee for acceptance.
