Editorial Independence

 

JODESMA maintains editorial independence in the evaluation, review, and publication of scholarly manuscripts. Editorial decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief and authorized editors based on the academic merits of submitted work.

Protection from External Influence

Editorial decisions must not be influenced by commercial interests, advertising, sponsorship, institutional pressure, personal relationships, political interests, or other external considerations.

Editorial Authority

Editors have authority over decisions concerning:

  • Manuscript evaluation.
  • Peer review.
  • Revision.
  • Acceptance or rejection.
  • Correction and other editorial actions.

All such decisions are made within the journal's established editorial policies and academic standards.

Financial and Organizational Independence

Financial or organizational relationships associated with the journal must not interfere with editorial judgment. Where a potential conflict of interest exists, appropriate measures should be taken to ensure that the manuscript is handled independently.

Independence from Publication Participants

Editors must maintain independence from authors, reviewers, publishers, and other parties involved in the publication process. Editorial decisions should be based on the scholarly merits of the manuscript and established editorial procedures.

Purpose of Editorial Independence

The editorial independence of Journal of Decision Support Systems and Multi-Criteria Decision Making (JODESMA) is intended to ensure that scholarly content is selected and evaluated according to academic standards and publication ethics rather than external influence.
